If your looking for a reliable and quiet source of compressed air up to 11 cfm at 150 psi (312 Ltr @ 10 bar) then the Mattei Blade rotary vane air compressor might be a good place to start. The Blade vane air compressor is extremely quiet with a noise level from 64 dBA, so the compressor can be located close to its consumer or operative without annoying everyone.
Be warned, some small or micro rotary vane air compressors can suffer from both overheating or overcooling problems. Overheating normally occurs because the oil cooler they use can block if not cleaned regularly. Overcooling on the other hand normally presents itself as an oily emulsified substance at the outlet of the compressor. This occurs because the compressor is not working hard enough and generates water condensate. Mattie have overcome both problems. 1) Overheating by replacing the oil cooler with a deep finned type outer casing that cools and but does not block. 2)The Overcooling is sorted by installing a patented thermal vent valve which quickly brings the compressor up to temperature to burn off the troublesome condensate. Simple, but it works. The Blade monitors your air demand and can run in continuous or stop/start mode. The Unica range is available as base mounted unit or in two receiver mounted versions at 90 and 200 litre.
